Rolling Deep!
In the daily grind you completely lose sight of what is important. You rarely get to take your kid in your arms and fully feel the love. More often than not Fritz is driving me crazy because I’m always rushing to get things done. He has nothing to do except lust after food and hang out with us or the babysitter, oh and toys of course.
The fam has been on vacation this Labor day weekend with 2 other families in Virginia Beach. It has been the most quality time we have ever spent together in our 18 months as a family. I am not thinking about work or trying to rush around and do anything at all. Being with other families is amazing in so many ways. The obvious one is that the kids can play together and run wild. But, we get to enjoy the company of our fellow parents. There is much to say that most of my friends cannot relate to. Joint family vacations rule.
We have had super-mega-quality family time. Fritz has been a virtual angel 75% of the time. He’s learned to point at his belly button and exclaim “Da Button!”. Uh, cutest thing ever. We have had family cuddling on the couch and splashing in the pool. There have been kisses and hugs. This vacation has made me ponder, Is there such thing as loving you kid too much? I really couldn’t ask for much more. All the parties in the world aren’t worth what I have right now. There is no drug that can make you as high as your kid can when he is having fun and your time together is worth the world. This makes it all worth it. No doubt it’s tough but when the good times roll…it’s on.
Here’s what the grown-up’s have done: BBQ, Swimming, Water Park, Drink, Beach, Eat, Talk, One got Food Poisoning, Seafood Buffet, Smoke ciggies, Bullshitting, One of the Au Pairs got a DUI and night in Jail.
Here’s what the kids have done: Play, Fight, Poop, Pee, Swim, Cry, Laugh, Babble, Be Super Cute, Eat, Run, Fall Down.
I love my family, I love my life. Oh and it’s my Birthday!
